Reccomendations on a cheap compact.

On behalf of a mate, i am looking for a cheap compact camera to take away on holiday.
It's a lads holiday to Ibiza, so something that can make a half decent job inside a dark club yet costs sub £100 (preferably up to £70) so it doesn't matter too much if it gets lost while he is in a drunken stupor.

Would prefer lithium batter over AA, bit its not essential.

I know it's a big ask, but i really don't know what i am looking at with compacts these days.

I've been asked the same thing by a mate and to be honest its a nearly impossible task. I've suggested that he look at one of the older Panasonics which seem to get good reviews and can be picked up from Jess ops for about £70.

Having just got back from a Hen Party in Benidorm - Any of the girls compacts seem to take OK drunken pictures in clubs and bars. I wouldn't even spend £70 for that purpose to be honest. They'll probably only end up on FaceBook - Unless your boys hols are different to the girls experience?!!

There were lots of boys willies on show in Benidorm that came out at ANY opportunity, so perhaps you'll need a good optical zoom?

You won't go far wrong with a Canon compact, you can get the older IXUS ones pretty cheap. I'd just avoid dodgy brands and I'm sure whatever you get will do the job for your mate.

What about a used Nikon coolpix 5200 5.1 mpxl? with extras?
I was going to put it in the for sale section this week anyway.
