2 favourite images from a couple of recent nights in the South Downs.
The church at Idsworth, I was lucky as I shot the foreground part of the panorama and took a series of bracketed exposures for the church cross, then the lights suddenly switched off!! Perfect as I could then shoot the arch and avoid all the over exposure and flare that the lights were giving.
Panorama of 8 1 minute tracked exposures for the sky, f2.4, 14mm, ISO 2000. Foreground similar but bracketed for the church then blended in photoshop and PTGui.
Second an idea I had in mind for a while, a closeup of the core and Rho Ophiuchi over Belle tout lighthouse. I tracked the core for an hour next to the lighthouse and shot the foreground a little down the slope at the same focal length, lining up where the stars and the building.
1 hour of tracked exposures, 1 minute each, f4, ISO1600, 70mm, plus darks and bias. Foreground single exposure same settings 10 seconds. DSS and photoshop.
Both taken with an Astro modified 6Dmkii.
