Recommend a present for a togger please

Does it have to be a physical present? I bought a flickr Pro account for a fellow member of the board this year.

A cheap UV filter? :D

Seriously though, there's always the memory card option, or maybe a spare battery? Possibly some sort of multi-purpose small bag (maybe to carry a spare battery and card if he's on foot and travelling light).

Some sort of PP program?

A Gorrilapod (possibly 2nd hand though for that I think)

Depends what he has really!

Hehe, do you want to be my friend? My birthday is coming up soon and I would like one of these, please :D

Great idea!

D :)

would be good to know what s/he already has , interests and what equipment s/he uses...... if someone were to spend £25 on a "how to photo a wedding DVD" for me, it would be on the for sale section here within the hour!!!!

Memory is always a safe bet, or a voucher for printing at Photobox etc? or depending on make of camera a voucher for Digital depot / SRS etc (if they do them)

Subscription to camera mag - no actually forget that one. :gag:

I know your intentions are good, but as the receiver of many crap golf presents over the years (Tees in a plastic xmas tree, and personalised golf ball markers - thanks but my marker pen does that quite well!)

Can you ask his/her "significant other" if there is anything she/he wants / needs?

Not sure if one can get these, but what about a 'voucher' that they could put towards camera equipment? Failing which, money in a card is never shy'd upon - that way they could put it with any other money gifts they receive and add it to what they 'need'. I know that sounds impersonal, but heyho in this day & age, cash is good :)

That was my thought for mentioning memory cards and batteries - any sort of book/dvd on photography would be for sale on ebay (or here when 30 days is up) for me!

Cash is also a good point, depending what sort of a friendship you have - if he/she is just starting out especially, a few friends giving cash instead means you can buy more lenses :D
