Hi folks,
I want to stop clogging up the PC's internal hard drive with music and photo's so I am looking to get a nice USB powered external drive.
I am happy with anything around the 160GB size (more would be a waste).

What do you have thats similar in spec or what would you recommend?

Thanks!

Hard drives fill up rapidly once you start taking pictures. For about £ 50 you should be able to get a USB external hard drive of around 1Tb capacity.

These require mains power as well. Smaller drives are available in self powered form - you can buy a laptop drive and a hard drive enclosure.

I have numerous external drives but like the Freecom Toughdrive best for your kind of application and,, it is tough and well built.

Are you wanting it to be portable or purely as a extra strorage?

If its just extra storage, and its not a laptop, fit an extra drive inside the PC, easy to do and quicker than USB.

Portable would be a bonus.

Seagate 250 Gb USB powered.

£25 Argos.

About the size of an old casette case give or take a cm or so.

Sounds perfect, will have a goosy gander!

Just checked!
Couldn't see that product for that price.
When I checked just now it was £40

Have a look at Maplins, they do 1TB which I think is worth buying HERE :):)

Seagate are ok but I would recommend the Western Digital -as I have had one for a while now and it works fine:cool: AND HERE

I have about 6 or 7 WD drives (passport and elements) and I swear by them.

Dirt cheap now too.

Got a link?

Yep

Bizarrely was showing £39.99 in the catalogue as well, but when I typed the cat no into the little machine to check stock were up for £24.99.........
