Hi all,
currently have the Sigma 17-50mm F2.8. Great lens for the price point and it has served me very well as my main lens. However I will be doing more magazine work soon and there are little points which it falls short on and I don't wait that causing issues. For example at 17mm it can get quite soft on the edges and if you were photographing a car you would need to focus the wheel rather than the head light otherwise the drop off can be quite dramatic. It can also be a little slow to focus.
I have been looking at the Nikon 24-70 but currently put off by the price and its overall size. The Tamaron 24-70mm seems better for the price but both aren't the focal length I really want, but respectively good upgrades?
To summarise:
Looking for a lens around 17-50 focal length
Needs to be fast in focus and F stop
Pin sharp low chromatic aberrations as I mainly shoot shiny stuff.
Max price ideally £1000
Not too big
What would everyone recommend?
