So, I deleted some files that I accidentally needed, from a NAS drive that is formatted in a bit of an odd Linux format (xfs, if you're interested) - Ran a couple of pieces of software that I had against it plugged into the machine, without success, so a bit of googling threw up Photorec. I wasn't recovering images, but I thought I'd give it a go anyway.
It got back 95% of the files I'd deleted, on the first attempt without my having to change any settings - Well happy
It's still running so it may yet do the full 100%, and I'll update the thread when it finally finishes in approx 5 hours time (well, I'll update in the morning, I won't be up then!)

One thing to note, it is command line based, so there isn't a pretty windows interface to work with, but if you follow the instructions, it's pretty straight forward to use
