Red Deer Stag

I phtotgraphed this Red Deer Stag early last year. It has obviously managed to get some twine or something caught up in its antlers. The twine would drop off when the antlers were shed or hopefully before that when grazing.

If it lives that long, if it's a farmed deer they might decide to shoot it.

Possibly a ranger may have noticed it now matter how wild the dear may seam in the middle of knowhere there is normally someone at some point checking on them and monotoring

That looks like the stuff they wrap around big bales. Its terrible stuff when left lying about. Imaging if a wee bird got caught up in that will picking about looking for food.I have seen Pheasants tangled up in that stuff. Glen Cannich again?

I cant help but feel a bit sad at the idea that it might have been caused some distress by its new 'do'.

He is clearly a young 'un and probably got caught up in that lot when scratching the felt off his antlers ... :shrug:

If he made it through he'll have lost it with his old antlers ...


Damn those lazy untidy humans ... :nono: ... always leaving crap around for wildlife to get tangled in ... sometimes with deadly consequences ...
