Anyone fancy taking a gander at my site. I have changed it totally but still keeping it very simple for layout etc. Any feedback would be great. :)

Thanks

:agree: the font has to change, it's very off putting. The rest is nice and simple.

Don't like the font but it might work better if the outline colour was different - at the moment it just gives a blurry feeling to it all, it's not very comfortable on the eye and will make people go elsewhere.

Excellent as I am keeping it simple. People often are to involved in the design of their site and it ends up a mangled mess. I want mine simple and a good way of showing photos. And I think the CSS style sheets are the best way. Too often people use flash.

Excellent! Except the CSS doesn't validate

see http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/...warning=0&uri=http://www.huntingmartians.com/

and neither does the HTML

see http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http://www.huntingmartians.com/

So if you are looking at producing a 'good' site there is some work to be done.

And TBH the font is not pleasing to the eye either, sorry.

Neil

Would agree about the font, it is rather 'dated' looking.

On the plus side, it is simple and effective. I like the way the thumbs become overlayed images (how is that done BTW?)

I'm using Firefox 2 on vista and can't see the galleries at all.

Galleries work ok on FF 3.03 on vista.

Sorry mate I agree about the font.. it doesn't fit with the images you are presenting.. which, by the way, from the ones I clicked on are very good!

The galleries also work on FF 3.03 and XP. The images are great as is the way the site handles them.

Thanks for all the comments. Unsure how to fix all the code for the problems with firefox. And maybe I will consider changing the font :p

If web design isnt your strong point and photography is it might be best to get a professional web designer to do your site and then use your photography so you've got the best of both worlds.

I think the white background needs to go - especially if you are going to insist on a font with a cyan outline! It just hurts my eyes.

I kind of like the top of the page links being low visibility on the gallery BUT they are so low visibility as to be invisible(almost) on the LCD here at work. They also need to distort like the links on the main page on mouse over.

I think that where you have www.huntingmartians.com at the top left needs to be a link back to the home page as well, but maybe not.

Ouch. That font is terrible. A friend of mine loves really bad fonts and I showed it to him. He loved it, which is a sign that it's a terrible font.

The scrolling/moving headers are a bit cringe-worthy too. I don't know if I would have incorporated that into your site.

Your gallery images are great, I would have built your site a little more understated and let your images do the talking. Something much cleaner.

Sorry.
