Remote Help!!

Hi People,

just a quick question i'm looking to buy a remote controller for my Canon eos 500d, and i was looking at the Rc-5 or Rc-6 controllers but the question is which one will work with my camera and whats the difference between them

According to the product specification for the 500D on Canons site you need the RC-5

yeh i have just found that is well, but i have been looking on the internet and they look exactly the same, does anyone know the difference in the 3 remotes, if not ill just get the one it says, i only asking bout the rc-6 as a friend ordered one and got 2 so was wonderin if he sent it to me weather it would work
