You can use 12.5mm height drives in new unibody MacBook Pros. Itss not advertised, nor does Apple use any themselves AFAIK, but they fit in my GFs 13" MBP.

Darren, I have boot camp running Windows 7 for when I have to use the work server so if I put the new drive in a caddy and run disk utility to Restore the existing drive to the new drive will this cover the bootcamp partition too do you know?

If you use Super Duper you will need to make sure that it copies both partitions.

I'll give a vote for this HDD. Got it in my 13" MBP and battery still lasts 5-6hrs. It starts up quicker, loads LR Previews quicker and generally better than standard 160GB HDD. Only downside is the slightly warmer running than standard.

looks like I will go for the 500GB drive
i brought from ebuyer
western digital 7200rpm 320gb
i haven't really noticed much difference in heat or battery drain
very quick to boot up etc.
