resolution advice

hi everybody,
I am a new member on here just got a question if anybody can help. I have a canon1000d, is there any way I can check resolution/focus on the camera [without computer]or is it necessary to be able to do this or just take the picture and don't worry about it till I get home

Bottom right hand corner on the back, there's an arrow button that points to the right. With the camera on, press that and you can scroll through.

You can zoom in whilst in shot review mode, if it looks OK then fine, if not take another shot, but don't delete anything in camera, always wait until you can review them properly on PC before finally binning a shot.
