Yes
I bought a lens late december from Jessops, but I'm having second thoughts now. Is it too late to get a refund? It's in perfect condition with all the accessories (which haven't been used).

Looked on the website and didn't get a clear answer, only you can cancel the order up to 14 days after recieveing it.

I reserved it online and collecteed in-store if it makes a difference.

I may be wrong but I think they don't have to give you a refund unless the goods are faulty. You may have to accept a credit note.

'End of December' + 14 days is now out for you, I'm afraid. Credit note is your best alternative, but only if they are willing to accept a return.

looks like jessops have changed the no quibble guarantee to 14 days now
if so then i take it the lens was a gift and the following applies

Christmas Gift Exchange
Most of our products are covered by our Christmas Gift Exchange no quibble money back guarantee - just return the product to us unused and in its full original condition with the receipt by the 31st January 2011 and we'll give you a refund or exchange (this is in addition to your statutory rights).

Which lens are we talking about? (just being nosey ;) )

Nikkor 18-105VR. Great lens, just not worth it.

no problem hope it helps

the 18-105 vr is 230-00 in jessops at the moment and loads of other places are selling it for 169-99
check them out on camera price buster

I like the way i haven't been told its changed down to 14 days, but as it was bought around christmas you're fine till Jan 31st.

please bare with the staff member, as the evil till has now decided to get us to write a short story on why things get returned and you'll have to sign a copy of the receipt as well..

I've done this before, 27 days after purchase. I wasn't keen on it and didn't get round to returning it until then, but there was no fuss once they checked the receipts etc... Full marks to jessops for honoring their returns policy so well I say.

I hope they don't try to sell it as new then to some other togger,

thats why i don't shop at jessops, there gear could have been in and out of there shops more times than the butty boy.

This has to be the reason to always open & inspect a purchase in the shop  If it looks like it's been returned then reject it.

I returned a Tamron last year after a couple of weeks as I was getting poor results, even after loads of advice from TP members.

Jessops should be strict on returns, as some have said, it's unfair to then pass on the returned goods a new :nono:

BUT, they are not a hire company so it's unfair for consumers to return something because they no longer want it

The lens I returned may well have been fine, but I could not get sharp images with it. I bought the Canon 70-300 IS USM & got great results.

TBH i did buy a 10 20mm at jessops TC and take some shots the returned it:naughty:

when it was first built

Merc not very proud but a little cleaver me thinks :D

Its actually illegal to sell used or returned goods as new unless they are clearly marked as returns. The goods have often not been used as they've been gifts or whatever, but they've been sold and removed from the premises so are therefore classed as used goods.
You'll often see labels marking this sort of thing if you look in your local electrical stores like Comet. They don't have to be sold at a cheaper price, they just have to be labelled as used, and as Jessops are so bad at this, I won't use them. I'll take my money elsewhere.

Returned items are marked with a sticker and usually turn up later (not necessarily at the same branch) as a "manager's special", they're not resold s new....
