550d, 18-55 kit lens New reversing ring. How do you set the aperture if you can at all? It's showing as '00' cheers

There's an awkward workaround. Fit the lens to the camera normally, set the aperture required and press the stop-down button. Remove the lens while holding the button down and the aperture will stay as set.

Tried what I thought it was and it reverted to '00' again - which button exactly is it please?

Think I've done it by trial and error by pressing both that button and the lens release button at the same time.....now to find some bugs!
