The beach on the Northern tip allows views of Turkey - not particularly photogenic but a nice snap to have! The aquarium (near that beach IIRC) was quite interesting. Have to admit it was 2000 when we were there so things may have changed - pretty sure Turkey's still there though!
Popular photo locations include Old Town, Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes, Mandraki Tower, Kolona Harbor, Port Windmills, Acropolis of Rhodes.
for Lindos and almost all of Rhodes apart from Faliraki where the streets seemed to be paved with recycled pizza/beer... We found that for swimming, the East coast was warmer and more sheltered but for solitude the West coast was better.
One thing we found was that the food on Rhodes isn't as good as that on Crete but we may be a bit biased!
