The death of former Kraftwerk pioneer has been confirmed. Probably one of the most influential musicians people have never heard of.
 
Just seen the news..... sad but so many memories snd influences.

73 is not ancient these days but for me, as a lover of electronic music from so
many places and decades so much came out of Germany and Dusseldorf was a centre for a while. I even got close to seeing them live in London in 1981 - the guy selling a ticket did not turn up.

Anyway, the German electronic music influence has stayed strong with me and is reflected in my music collection.

I never got my head around all the legals that beset the ‘group’ and what part the Kling Klang record label had!

Tonight I will listen to The Man Machine.......
 
One of the most influential bands in popular music culture, Trans Europ Express is still one of my favourite tracks.
Found it strange when I was in Dusseldorf there was nothing tangible to celebrate them or their music.
Here is the very train that inspired the classic album and track
