Nice looking site. If I were to be super picky I would say that:

1. Its a bit too 'left' for me. I am on a widescreen laptop but to have everything centred would be better IMO.
2. The 'headings' are too plain. I know you are going for a simple look, but I think theres room to use a more interesting font, or something which divides up each section better.
3. Your name at the top is too small/insignificant/lost in the page design. Something more prominent would remind people whos work they are looking at.
 
Looks very nice, good layout and I like simple backgrounds. I also just checked in Firefox as well & it seems to work in that, you'd be amazed how many don't.

In the 'about' bit though you mention using a 'contact form below' and it's not there.
BTW, my favourite picture on there today is Sinnington - lovely shot, just lovely.

I presume your on IE? It was built for Firefox with some tweaks made for IE ;)

Nice looking site and cracking images, I like the landscape section and the silhouette of the fishermen...

Site functional in Safari as well no issues. I thin the justification of the site is fine... I am on a 24" screen does not mean the browser has to be full screen.

Layout of the site is nice.

This is where the phrase "Less Is More" comes in and your web site is a good example of it.
I think it is a lovely little web site where you kept the number of font types at the minimum. The colour scheme is spot on, and the web site itself does look neat and tidy.
I'd leave it as it is (obviously except to add pictures in it) as it's doing the job it's set out to do. Flash graphics and GIF aminations just don't do anything for me. In fact, I'm very tempted to overhaul my own "freebie" web site and make it look more like your's.
Actually, the only tiny bit of advice I would like to offer is to make the navigation menu just that little bit bigger or add a simple frame around it as it look me a minute or two to realise that your web site does have other pages.
 
Thanks guys...title is green only on homepage, I'm working on sorting out the css styles ma-jig to get on all pages:thinking:

is there a mac version of the software?
 
Based on all the suggestions from you guys I've changed things around a little, pretty happy now tbh, just need to get the rest of my current work loaded.

Hi Tim,

I've recently been building a site, too, and can appreciate all the hard work you've put in - especially as you seem to have built it from scratch rather than using an "off the shelf" option as I have done.

I really like your style and I'd be inclined to keep it as it is, just adding new pictures in due course. You have a site to be proud of - if you can build from scratch like this maybe there's a market to build for others who are not quite so computer literate?

I am viewing on a wide screen monitor using Firefox. Might suggest the following

Lots of people look for a "home" page rather than an info page

The copyright bit looks out of place where it is and design wise conflicts with the links. I would make it smaller and move it down and left a bit.

Try moving the links box down a bit so that the highest line (other than the page title) is Welcome. Experiment with making the link box smaller and maybe a different colour text.

Try having more than one photograph on the front page, maybe one nature, one landscape and one architecture and making these hyper links to the pages with these on.

Have a look a Jalbum, its a free download and you could use this for album pages etc.

Consider writing in third person, for example instead of

I am an amateur photographer living in North Yorkshire, shooting an exciting and dynamic county which offers some of the North of England's best attractions. From the North Sea coast to the depths of the North Yorkshire moors I tackle all subjects including portraits, sports, landscape and commercial proposals. Don't hesitate to contact me using the form below.

it could be

From the North Sea Coast to the depths of The North Yorkshire Moors when he is not working as a .................., photographer Tim Sainsbury can be found shooting this exciting and dynamic county.

Are there any portraits on hte site as you mention them?

If you go to http://www.sitemeter.com/?a=stats&s=s14tsphoto&r=8 you will see a list of your recent visitors, did you realise that with that sitemeter the whole world can access the data not just you

must admit though that I think your thumbnails are a little wasted tucked away in the bottom left corner - I missed them the 1st time I looked, thought the website wasn't working as there was no main "feature image".

Personally I think to get people to investigate your site further you need to "hit them between the eyes" straight away on your homepage. As per earlier comments above I'd concentrate on making the homepage as powerful as possible, don't worry too much about lots of information

Thanks for the extra comments. I've made more changes, mainly to make it more visually impacting, let me know how it works out. Especially on other browsers aside from Firefox.

Mines the same, but it was OK when I looked earlier. I think it's a problem with the row of images at the top pushing the heading down.
 
Yeh, thats a problem, different resolutions.........gah.

I'll remove the top image for now
