Great find and lots of detail Kevin. It moved and you found it again? The two environments look very different.

I'm trying to work out why I'm not quite comfortable with the look of these. Are they very big crops? Have you done something different with the processing for these? Perhaps it's just me.

No not at all nick the second shot was the first one then I disturbed it and it jumped on a thistle hence the second shot? Playing about with my my 24 macro light ?

I am trying to work out whether the highlights needed adjusted or they are oversharpened.
Looking at the histogram the second shot falls well short of the right as presented.
