Wild Roosting Common Blue butterfly

Inspired by the recent crop of wonderful butterfly images from Neil Burnell, but in nowhere near the same class, here's my effort from last night:

Unfortunately handheld in fast-fading light (as I didn't go armed with a tripod) so high ISO but it's the best I've managed up to now.

Looks pretty darn good to me. I was out for hours today and saw a grand total of 1 butterfly, seems they are skipping out on my area this year. (or more likely I'm not looking in the right places)

Thanks Ryan, this is the first time I've ever seen one roosting for the night - I usually end up chasing them round like an idiot! It made my evening TBH
