Well, saw about 4 photographers there all taking various photos of the pier. Now were waiting for sunrise
 
I live 20 minutes away, didn't know anyone was going.
 
We decided to ditch the sunrise at saltburn and whiz down to whitby......only to be let down by a hidden rising sun due to rogue clouds. Nice walk round an almost empty whitby. Hopefully got some good shots.

Time for a seaside coffee and a very long drive back!
 
I used to live/work in Whitby, many years back

Look forward to seeing the shots, bring back a few memories I hope - did you shoot the 199 steps up to the Abbey? I ask as my house was close to the bottom of the steps

I lived in Saltburn for 8 years, hence the cryptic message about the Back Alex pub. Everyone heads for the pier, but the formal gardens are nice, and if you go up the stairs to the top of Huntcliffe, there's some great views over the bay.
 
I was on the pier this morning fishing from about 4.30. Lovely still morning, best time of the day to be out before the idiots descend. A couple of lovely fresh mackerel for tea tonight. There were a couple of people with camera's on the pier this morning around 5-6am catching the sunrise.

Haha do it if you want all the TP crew round yours when we are out taking pics of the pier and it starts to rain.
