These 'Nature' stories are like buses You wait for a couple of hours and none come along then three do. This is worth posting, though.

Very long journeys by migrating birds isn't new of course and Ospreys make the very long journey from northern Europe to South Africa. West Africa it's the usual destination for the Scottish Ospreys but what was different about this one is that it flew from Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park to Barbados, a journey of 4,124 miles and the majority of the flight was over the Atlantic. Those involved in the Osprey project at Clyde Muirshiel had ringed it..KWO..in June last year . It's a female Osprey. The furthest west any of the Clyde Muirshiel birds have flown were the Cape Verde Islands 435 milews off the west coast of Africa. KWO and its ring were photographed on March 9th in Barbados.

I found an article about it which details these long flights and there's a photo of KWO at Clyde Muirshiel. https://www.roydennis.org/2023/03/24/a-transatlantic-flight/
