Yes
Is there much difference? I have a couple of rapidly filling WD elements drives, but the price gap between these and the Seagate equilivents are growing. I`ve never used Seagate drives, so don`t really know much about them.

Have a read

I've used both over the years and they are both great drives. I would tend go to Seagate now because they tend to be cheaper that WD for the same if not slightly better performance. My internal drives are all crucial M.2 drives now though.

As Chris above I have used both brands over the years without any issues.
However I always have used WD in specific scenarios such as WD Red label in my servers and NASs and WD Black label as external HDs in my game consoles.

Thanks guys. It's only for backing up. As Chris says, Seagate are a lot cheaper at the moment. I've just always had WD drives. Even my M2 is WD. 8tb Seagate is only a few £ more than the 6tb WD.

I have never had a mechanical WD failure, maybe just lucky :)
I don't know about SSD, probably the chips are all made in the same factories.

Hopefully I've got enough space left until black Friday ;)
