Yes
Went into town yesterday on my mobility scooter
Nearing my destination all of a sudden a massive sh-t covered the front right side of my shirt
Some splattered on my head face a beard
I was in a proper mess , Fortunately I had a roll of blue paper towel to sort of clean it up
Back home shirt in the washing machine and me in the shower for a second time

Gulls, eh? Pirates, every one of them.

This booger's had half of someone's sandwich!

Sorry to hear that, Allen. I cannot imagine just how horrible that must have been.

Dave

In all seriousness, I quite like gulls.

They're intelligent and they thrive where other birds don't. To my way of thinking, if you like the natural world, there are worse species to live with.

Due to my diabetes we tend to waste a lot of bread ,probably only using a few slices per loaf , and living on the coast there’s more than a few gulls that do rather well every few days . It also gives me good b.i.f practice on a regular basis .

Split the loaf into 3 or 4 packs and freeze the bits you're not going to use at once. I don't eat a lot of bread either and doing that saves a lot of waste.

I too have a liking for gulls. Herring gulls in particular have attitude in spades but if I lived somwhere they are a menace I might think differently. Though some of the problems with gulls are caused by humans.

Get a giant freezer and fill it with gulls, most round here only get their feet wet when paddling in puddles, hundreds fly over our house on their way to the council tip, and back at night, never to the sea and roost in industrial buildings roofs.

sitting by the pool the other day in palma nova and a bloody big gull swoops down on this poor pidgeon and starts pecking it to death...never saw anything like it in my life, survival of the fitest i know but felt sorry for some poor russian girl near us who was traumatised by all the guts...little sod jumped into the pool to clean off so pool got closed for the day

Gulls predate on small chicks and eat them alive :puke:

However, they clearly enjoy flying - I love to watch them swoop and turn, especially in a wind. Reading Jonathan Livingstone Seagull as a boy made me want to fly, which I eventually learnt to do. Never quite managed their level of aerobatics but managed a bit.
They are rather horrible on occasion though, I agree.

To borrow a phrase from the dad in Friday Night Dinners: s*** on it!

Yes in costal towns they are a menace, and apparently they are protected.
Taken with a Canon Ixus 185 as I walked to work.
