Selaru Ovidiu - workshops

I’m looking at booking myself and my son on a street photography workshop/masterclass and came across Selaru Ovidiu. I was attracted by his work on his website.

I don’t know a lot about him and there’s not a huge amount I can find online. Does anyone know anything about him, his courses? Any personal experience. It’s probably £1200 for two of us so I don’t want to waste it and I want to have good experience with my son for a weekend sharing our interest and inspiring him!

I wonder if you could look at his instagram - he might share students work and give some other insight into his masterclass.

Spending that much money on a street photography workshop, I'd want an outer body experience.

imo spend the money getting yourselfs to the Lisbon street photography festival and sign up to some of the workshops there

You're not really going to learn much in a short time frame. If you have only just come across him, why would you want to do a workshop? Surely booking one with someone who already inspired you would be the way forward.

Thanks for this . It’s actually the conclusion we came to last night and have booked the trip to Lisbon. We have some time on the day we arrive, then a day workshop with Matt Hall, then another day and a half to practice what we’ve learnt, all for less than a workshop with Selaru. Really looking forward to having a dedicated photo weekend with my son!

You're not really going to learn much in a short time frame. If you have only just come across him, why would you want to do a workshop? Surely booking one with someone who already inspired you would be the way forward.

It’s a fair challenge, although we spent a lot of time looking at various street photographers and his work stood out. After watching some YouTube videos etc we both independently decided that he wasn’t likely the right person for us (after I’d posted this thread!)

You will find Matt a very pleasant and helpful guy to go along with.
