Beginner Shooting a Charity Event

I was in ONE-SHOT. There was some difficulty with servo, but I can't recall what it was.

If its a moving subject AI-SERVO is the way to go, as whichever way you activate focus whether its back button or shutter, the camera will attempt to follow.

My guess is that you had the camera in ONE SHOT and not AI Servo. Which is why it hasn't worked.

AI-Servo is the way to go for moving subjects otherwise even a split second between focus lock and the shutter firing may result in a missed focus

As above AI Servo is the way to go, but in a very dark environment you can’t because it disables the focus assist.
