Couldn't agree more. Its my favourite lens, which I use mainly to photograph Dragonflies. I have posted a few images in the Animals & Nature section. Its sharp throughout the range even at 250mm, has Canon's best IS (better than the IS on the famed 70-200mm f4 L IS) and is small and light.
1. How much money do you want to spend?
2. What focal lengths do you want?
3. Have you looked at reviews of the lens?
4. Have you looked at other similar lenses to see if there's anything as good or better for the same money or cheaper?
Ive been tempted to buy one myself ive got a 50D body with no lens i did buy one at AVforums but the member sold me a faulty 50mm lens and asked for it returned so he check it i did then hes no been replying for a week since having it hes also a member here ...
Anyhow to start with i was after a bit of a Telephoto lens and i had my head set on this and yet im also thinking of the 70-200 F4 L (non IS) as i fancied the idea on getting a L lens as thought may get more moneys worth from my camera yet thats twice the price
