No
Hi there right now i've had a Panasonic TZ7 p & s for nearly a year. (my first camera)
Evidently i feel very restricted with manual control likewise with most p&s, you might as well shoot auto!

The TZ7 takes very good images however a dslr is the competent tool for photography! right ?

I don't know whether to upgrade or not ? i feel i'm at a stop sign with my p & s.

thanx guys.

I had the TZ6 for a good couple of years and i loved it but as with you the lack of manual control was limiting and frustrating. I now have a Canon s90 which has manual control and a good sensor. It is like a breath of fresh air and a great camera BUT.....It's still not the same as a DSLR. But before going BIG you may want to look at a bridge camera or (my recommendation) a Panasonic GF1. These are a cross between a DSLR and a P&S and the GF1 is small, light and has great image quality especially if you go for the 20mm f/1.7 lens.

A good idea if you fancy a GF1 would be to read through this thread: http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=176358

Enjoy researching
