Show us yer film shots then!

Just having a wistful look at a few I took earlier this year on the Contax IIa while in France.
Had a little play in Lightroom to bring out the shadows and change the white balance.

HP5 and Ilfosol.

I have a D700 that does indeed have great DR but to be honest, its DR is no better than film. Infact, in many ways the DR of film is quite better, especially when shooting into heavy shadows on a sunny day.

never said it's better. Just returned from a very sunny place and the stop differences were HUUUGE !!! nothing like UK  , but I had limited space so only took a dslr.

This is probably my favourite negative I've ever produced... The actual image is pretty crap but the range of tones on the neg is immense. love MF film.

Interesting shot Chris - I'd have maybe given the tree a little breathing space on the left hand side - just so the final twigs didn't cross the frame. Maybe a little "dust spotting" could be in order as well - it looks like you dried your film in a Hoover bag at the moment, though nothing that isn't fixable.

I was really just 'playing' this film came in a seriously old bakelite bulk loader, I didn't actually expect to get anything from it, no idea what film it is even, nor did the person I bought it off. It looks a bit like Ilford something though. I just guessed at asa 100 and developed it accordingly. Yes I do have some dust problems here but hopefully they will be sorted once my playroom/darkroom is finished, I'll be hoovering the hell out of it tomorrow :)

I don't know about everywhere else but Sussex has been covered in fog for the past two days so I have been trying to make the most of it :D

so ... it's not easy posting flickr images ??? unless I'm doing it wrong ?

BUT HERE ARE A FEW TEST SHOTS FROM AN EOS3 , a few hours after purchase. 50/1.8 lens - Brighton , if I recall correctly. (about a year ago ... just got the film developed)

I've got quite a few to share, so will start a thread here if anyone's interested. Just from life in China the past couple of months.

Really like this image, love the colours love the shallow DOF.

Agree with the others Jakska you should blow that image up into a big print.

Thanks guys :) if I'm not busy next week I'm going to get into the darkroom to do some printing!

Those two portraits are really nice paleblue, the two portrait format landscapes you have in that thread are absolutely mindblowing as well.

Shaking up the street photography a bit with a roll of Ektar 100, I've missed having this film!!
All with The Canon EF and 501.8 due to low light and 100 speed film, a change from 1600iso f16 1/250!

A few from seaford head on friday, will defiantly be making a visit when the light is better...

mamiya c330 / panf 50 / f4 2mins

One from sunday evening, I scanned in colour and it has give the lights a blue tone which I quite like. Probably going to have a go at more night shots soon.

Beautiful night shot Liam.

Well I ended up with something pretty-pretty (if not accurate) for my night shot when Asda made a cock-up with my film, they seem to have a problem with some old Jessops 200asa film, anyway corrected their scanned faults in Photoshop and ended up with this lucky image:-

A few from Tuesday, finishing off the film that I should have used at the local soapbox derby on new years day, but it was raining so bad I blobbed and went to the pub instead :(

All on Fuji Reala, Tetenal C41 kit, Canoscan 8800F/Silverfast SE and shot on the trusty EOS-3

Edit: interesting colour going on in the river... either they've been dying purple yarn again upstream, or my chemicals are stuffed!

well, i finally got out and shot some film. I shot two rolls yesterday. i will spread them out over a few days. i did not realize how much i truly missed shooting with a good ole fashion slr and hearing that shutter go...anyway, i used my sp2 with 35mm super tak and 99 cents film. processing was done by target. i trimmed slightly and that be about it.

Griffith park observatory
these where shot wide open at f/3.5 and 1/50 hand held with 200 speed film.
