Show us your best shots from 35,000 feet!

how do you guys manage this? i always get banged next to the wing, and so I've never had a chance to try. What sort of settings?

In this case, I flew British Airways, checked in online, and chose a seat forward of the wing (more because I was able to have the seat at the front of Economy Class with the same legroom as Business Class, but it worked out well for the photos too :)).

I haven't yet taken an SLR on a flight, so I can't comment on settings.

There wouldn't be much left of you once you'd reached 35,000 feet with your motor Gary

In other news, your photos have prompted me to take up paramotoring, so I've booked myself on a course next month!!

This lot were taken on a flight to Hong Kong, crossing Siberia, Mongolia and China. I think the first three are Siberia region. They originally had gps info embedded but it has been removed at some point during processing history. I'll put its restoration on the list of things to do.

Take heart... at least you get airborne... I've only been in a plane once in my 40 years on this planet (well, twice if you count coming home) and it was 20 years ago, and only to Paris.

Best I can hope for is set the camera on timer and throw it as high as I can in the air! :crying:

Hi all.

Here's one taken with my SE C905 camera phone heading over The Alps into Genoa recently;

The next two show some sort of encampment, probably military. Totally isolated and no other signs of life as far as the eye could see.

Got a few more on the flight in, when not sat over the wing, but they still reside on my laptop, so this thread has reminded me to move them onto main puter, may post some soon.

A thread that needs a bump :)

I've one or two...

Somewhere over the North Sea on the way from Aberdeen to Newcastle in a Saab 2000...

Couple of Nimrod wings...

If I was on a commercial flight and had these boys tracking us so close I'd be mighty worried someone on board was about to do something he/she shouldn't and I don't mean join the mile-high club or smoke in the lavs..

My old man was on a comercail flight over Russia and they had a mig escort at about that range, they hung around for 10-20 minutes and then just shot off. He's got some old film shots at home somewhere, the passengers were not sure wether to take pics or pray apparently.

I fly all over the place and am usual on a plane every other week or so, why oh why have I never tried this!!!!!!:bang::bang::bang:

These are great!!! I WILL be trying this next week!!

Here's a shot over Australia :

And yes they were from the kit lenses.
