I had a nice little job last night photographing a classical music concert. Bit of a change from Twickenham!
However, there was a problem. The shutter noise of the 1DIII was quite noisy in the quiet environment of the hall. Even when the music was fairly loud I had some complaints from people.
I did try using Live View to effect a quieter shutter, but in the end it was still quite noisy and disruptive. I had my 300mm with me and ended up taking a few shots from the back of the hall, and also some 70-200 shots from up on the lighting balcony.
So...has anyone had a similar experience and how have you handled it?
Ta muchly.

PS - lovely photos at the end of the day in quite challenging conditions. Running a couple of 2.8 lenses (and 50 1.4 sometimes) and ISO up to 2000 resulted in some really nice smooth bokeh on the pics. Lightroom 2.5 cleared the noise up very well to produce some super jpegs for the client.
