had one, wasn't happy with mine, didn't think it was sharp enough, think it all depends on how lucky you are with getting a good copy,
there are plenty of happy people out there with theirs, i also had a 150-500 which has had loads of bad reviews, but mine was a cracker even
at full reach, wish i never sold it, so i think it all depends on lens copy, and what set up you have it on, seen some good offers on these lenses on MPB.

I had one for many many years and only sold to get a 200-500. A good copy is a keeper if you get one. A bit heavy but mine was sharp even at f2.8 and at f4 with a tc attached. See my flickr for loads of images from it.

I regretted selling mine way back. AF was decent enough (not as fast as a Canon 70-200), and it was sharp enough.
