just aquired this lens and would like a filter , mainly to protect it, but any suggestions / advice appreciated!
mainly shooting plants, insects and fish (through glass).

Why not just use the lens hood? You get a lot of working distance with that lens, so little chance of anything making contact.

You don't need a filter IMHO.

i just assumed it was the "norm" to protect every lens with a filter of some kind!

I have the Sigma 150 and a CPL that will fit, but to be honest I have hardly ever used it. I hope you get to be as happy with yours as I am with mine - it's a cracking lens :)

i'm sure i will . but i want a macro flash to go with it. any suggestions?
considering em-140 and nikon r1. but strapped for cash at the moment.
