Hi,
I think I hijacked another thread, so decided to start my own
I've recently bought a second hand Sigma 17-70mm f2.8-4.5 DC Macro and have been very happy with it
, but I ordered a new Tamron 17-50mm VC yesterday and don't know if I've wasted my money ?? Shots from the Sigma are sharp in my opinion, here are two shots I took today handheld with my 450D
One of my son @ 100 crop, 48mm, f5.6, 1/200sec, 580ex flash

Another of a spider @ 100 crop, 70mm, f9.0, 1/400sec, 580ex flash

I realise these aren't wide open, but sharpness is no different.
