Hi Everyone,
I'm looking to upgrade my 18-55mm kit lens, and I think I would like one of these two lenses:
Sigma 17-70 f2.8-4.5
Canon 17-85mm f4-5.6 IS
I guess I'm looking for people's opinion on these lenses - I tend to use my 18-55mm when just walking around.
I also have a 50mm f1.8 and a 75-300mm f4-5.6.
OR is there a different lens, for around the same budget (£200ish) that I should look at - I don't mind buying 2nd hand!

You may get a greater range with the 17-70, but the 17-50 has a constant f/2.8, and I've read somewhere (can't remember where) that the 17-70 stops down from f/2.8 as soon as you zoom away from 17mm, therefore the largest aperture is only at the widest angle, which, arguably, is where you're least likely to need it.
