Hi all,

Im looking for some review's from people who own or have owned one of these lenses.

I am on the lookout for a cheap 70-300mm lens and see the non APO version seems to be a fair bit cheaper.

Is it a bad lens and what do you lose in the non APO(and yes the APO) but will i notice much between them in all honesty.

Thanks folks.

Thanks folks.

I have the non apo version, i find it to be a good lens.

If you have a look at my flickr, most of the bird pics and all of the water drops pics are taken with it.

I've got the non apo one and for the price it's OK but not great. As always, you want a better one, and I am saving up to get a Canon with IS & maybe USM. I will be selling mine as soon as I get close to the money! (not long to go!)
For a budget lens it will do until you get the urge for better as I am!

The reason im looking to buy one is that i am having to send my Sigma 70-200mmf/2.8 back to sigma for a warranty claim.

They have told me it will be 2/3 weeks so i am looking for something to get me through but i have always wanted to have a 70-300 in my bag so i would prob hold onto the lens.

What are you looking to spend? Do you want new or S/H? Average price on Amazon is £120 for non apo and £160 for apo. To be honest I have never had problems with CA with the lens. I use it for birding and sport with a bit of cloudspotting as well.

Im not fussed about new or S/H, and as little as possible if i can.

I am thinking if i can new though but i will see what pops up.

These were taken with this lens.
hand held, through a mesh fence, on a little hill!

I could be talked into selling mine a little earlier than planned I suppose!

No probs! Good luck with your purchase!
