Hi folks,

I'm about to add a teleconverter to my kit bag, and I'm having issues chosing one! I was just about to pull the trigger on a "Kenko x2 Pro300 DG" when I read that there may be issues with Sigma HSM lenses, and thought I'd ask first! There seem to be so many versions with so many different variations and names that I'm struggling to keep track. So, has anyone used the aforementioned abbveviated lens with a Sigma 70-200 f/2.8? Did it continually hunt for AF? Help please :help: ?

Cheers,

Chris

It won't work - Sigma HSM and Kenko TC's do not mix well.

Said this a few times here... so do a search on my username here on or other places.

Forget this combo.

Thanks for the input! I wasn't sure if it was just a particular line of Kenko TCs, or all of them. Looks like it'll give it a miss then, and go for the Sigma alternative. Cheers

My advice for what it is worth is....... Don't go for a 2x converter you will be mightily disappointed, stick with 1.4x and you will be fine

I did a few posts on this on Nikonians - notice when I googled myself all my content is still up there even though the cheaky sods wanted to start charging users for the privilege of providing them with free content! So I left. The Kenko stuff is still there though.

Anyhow, definitely forget it.. its never played well as a combo.
