Sigma has announced it will brand its lenses in three categories and has introduced a new lens in each of the categories. The 'Contemporary' range will cover compact, flexible zooms, such as the new, smaller 17-70mm F2.8-4 DC OS Macro designed for APS-C DSLRs. The 'Art' range will include lenses such as primes, wide-angles and macros, and a new 35mm F1.4 DG HSM covering a full-frame imaging circle. Finally, the 'Sports' range will encompass Sigma's telephoto primes, telephoto zooms and superzooms, such as the new 120-300mm F2.8 DG OS HSM.

I really like there sexy new look, reminds me of Zeiss lenses. Lets hope they have the performance to match!;)

Very nice! Shame the price will probably also increase though. The 35 1.4 looks sexy!

There's also newly developed USB dock, and special software that can update the lens firmware and adjust parameters such as focus.
Using a special USB dock, you can connect the lens to a PC and, using on-screen controls, tune focus and other parameters.

Yeah i read that too. Sounds like a great idea.

In the short term that 35mm could get me very interested if the price is 'right'. I could get the cheap Samyang (video version) which is excellent, so if Sigma is just as good and well below Canon price then that's a winner.
120-300 - very exciting as always, just not what I am looking for at the moment.

USB thing surely sounds great and will be a very welcome change... as long as the elements are aligned properly (something ALL japanese lens makers need to pay attention to)

Look good, 35mm 1.4 nice, Im sure it will be just as good a the 50 & 85.

Yes. I'm tempted already... I have the 50 and 85mm f1.4's and the 35 would be lovely (it does look big though?) but I have promised myself I'll move away from DSLR's and into CSC.

Resurrecting this thread. Parkcamera's have a placeholder on their site for the 35 f1.4 @ £800.

Good price compared to the nikkor equivalent. Let's see how it performs.

Yeah I like them!

Never disliked the current range of sigma's though.

wouldn't mind seeing what the 35mm is like when it comes out

I look forward to seeing the 17 70 pricing current model 275 ish so £400 for new one?

The one that intersts me is the new 120-300 OS, but with the current one a shade under £2k after a year of coming out I can't imagine the new one being under 2.5, and probably closer to 3!

That one can be got for about £1600 on amazon right now. I would imagine the newer one will be arounf 2.5K though.

I've got the new 85mm F1.4 lens which has the same style as the lenses posted in the OP. Its a wonderful lens to use and the AF is lightning fast. Its also one of the sharpest lenses I've ever used wide open :D

Really looking forward to the 35 F1.4 reviews
