A video popped up on my Youtube channel today and it caught my eye because it's about the new-build road close to my home. It's been a bottleneck for years. Birdlip Hill. The video is by Truckers Eye and as I watched it a song was played which I thought was fantastic. I Googled to see if I could find out,at least who the singer is, but to no avail. AI said it had been 'commissioned' for the video.."The missing link"..the name of the song, apparantly, is what the new-build is all about. All the words are about the new road. Google/AI did say it was Indie-Pop. Another search said it was Leo Sayer..he sings a song called "Missing Link" but it's not him.

I've posted here rather than in 'What you listening to now"... because I wanted to reach as many as possible.

Go to 2 minutes on the timeline. It would be interesting to know what others think. It just wasn't the singer I liked but the backing music/chords.

Have you tried using Shazam to identify it? I don't have my phone handy...

From the drop-down under the video:

The new song from this video is available NOW on our Spotify!Find that and some of the music used in these videos here :https://open.spotify.com/artist/32eTb...Or listen here on youtube Titanic EP : • A TITANIC JOURNEY EP Trucking Back To The 80s Album : • 80s trucking album Truckers Rock Album : • TRUCKERS ROCK FULL ALBUM Trucking The Country Album : • Trucking The Country FULL ALBUM THANKS FOR WATCHING!

There's a VERY strong likelihood the music is AI if it's produced for the youtube channel (this is the new normal).

*edit*
Example - the guitar and bass on here is played by the channel creator, but the vocals and probably the rest of the backing track is all AI.

I strongly suspect it’s AI and as much as I detest ai ‘arts’ I cant deny it’s a good song with a lot of human emotion!

Shazam ? I've just Googled what that is. . I have to download the App. I see Toni has found something. I did look on the videos for credits but didn't see any. I watched it on my TV not the iMac so wasn't able to do any scrolling. I'll just go to Toni's post now.

Thanks for all that. I clicked on the spotify link and Truckers Eye 'Titanic Journey'. It was great, too.

I never gave a thought to it being AI. I'm a bit of a dinosaur when it comes to technology tbh. I see that Mark..thinks its AI, too.

So.. I've just Googled that question and here's what I found on Instagram confirming it. He answering someone asking the same question as I did..Who is it ? What group ?

Believe it or not… the song you’re listening to is not a real person, and not a real voice. The music and voice was generated using AI software, and was released to streaming platforms all while raking in millions of streams and monthly listeners. There’s a lot to unpack with this, as the major labels are filing lawsuits against the AI companies for training their models with unauthorized copyrighted music, and not to mention the questions surrounding the copyright-ability of AI generated works."

Look at this part of the answer...."major labels are filing lawsuits against the AI companies for training their models with unauthorized copyrighted music."

So have these AI companies played an actual real person singer into the computer and used his voice ? I'd never find out who that was, then. I suppose I'll just have to listen in a different way..mentally.I'm not sure I could 'cope' with that. After I watched it on the TV Youtube channel I came onto my iMac and got it up and saved it to 'favourites'. I see Mark really likes it,too. In that Spotify link I saw about six titles and that one,Missing Link, re the new road at Birdlip was listed.

As you see,Mark.. you are right. I'm very disappointed. I'd have bought tickets to go and see the group...lol.

I could listen to that song all day. The backing is superb. It sent 'shivers down my spine' as our dear departed Freddie M would say. How would you describe it ? Heavy Rock/Heavy Metal..?

This has to be the best trucking song ever.

WARNING: EXTREMELY DISTURBING SCENES FROM THE OUTSET.

If you are a hedgehog lover with no sense of humour, and are of a nervous disposition, and are easily offended by the sight of a stuffed hedgehog being murdered by a Heavy Goods Vehicle and then used as a sandwich filling, look away now.

Agreed. @JohnC6 other great bands in that genre include counting crows and matchbox 20.
There’ll be loads of others too but I like those ones.
Not too keen on those two, Mark. Do you know of any that sound like that 'Missing Link' singer ?

I'll keep Goggling the genre myself.
