As he approaches his 100th birthday at the end of April.
Captain Tom Moore is raising money for the NHS. Each day he is walking 25m lengths of his garden and determined to have achieved 100 laps by his birthday.
His original goal was to raise £1000.
A fund raising page set up for him is about to pass the £500k mark.
What an inspiration.

Rapidly approaching £520k now, I reckon it could pass £1M by his birthday on April 30th.

I met Piers Morgan at the Chelsea flower show a few years ago, thoroughly nice bloke off camera. And yes well done to all concerned in raising this money.

And pretty much down to Chris Evans / Vass pimping it at every chance on Virgin breakfast ;)

It was on 750k the oher day, Vass mentioned it, went to look at the page shortly after and it had crashed ..

I assume these are actual donations and not pledges like they have for children in need, as it's "just giving" they are donations?
 
Even though he should complete the 100 laps tomorrow, Tom has said whilst people keep donating, he'll keep walking. :)
 
He is completing his 100th lap on BBC Breakfast at 8:30 this morning.
The Donation site is stuck at just under £12.2M at the moment, it kept freezing in the early hours too.
