Slide projector to digital??

My dad has 100's of colour slides which he use to view on his slide projector but now wants to get them converted to digital so they can be printed. Does anyone know of any decent firms that do this or have a recommendation of a good quality slide scanner to buy so that we can do it ourselves?

I converted about 3000 slides by buying a cheap M42 slide duplicator from ebay and hacking it to adjust for the crop factor, worked really well. with better lenses I may have been able to do a higher quality job, but now my parents can see their slides anytime.
