Slideshow Technique - Help please.

I've been invited to enter a photo competition, with the format being a slideshow set to music.

Any pointers as to making it creative, rather than just fading in out from one shot to the next?

Try creating a very large panel of images in PS, then panning round each one in time to the music. Ending with a pull back to the large panel.
You'll need some image panning software though.

Good idea, a possible.

I've given that animoto a go, too flashy, not enough focus on the images.

Any more ideas?

In animoto if you choose a slow song and reduce the speed of the image change, and spotlight them, it can become more about individual images.

If you have a mac iPhoto is the best option. The default themes are really amazing.

I use a combination of iPhoto and Final Cut in order to produce DVDs of my nature lectures. That way I can seamlessly mix DV footage with still images.

Look at www.photodex.com - loads of examples based on proshow gold and producer.

You tube too has plenty.

Proshow Gold is great!
