Cameras at the ready , ps starts tuesday!

Certainly does look stonking for Friday. But that's all a long way off, as you and I know all too well, five days is a very, very long time in the world of meteorology.
But wouldn't mind that coming off as I've still yet to see a proper snow cover what with me living in Kent (Folkestone had missed out on the real snow so far).

I don't believe it. No snow here at all and on the 30th and 31st December I took a 590 mile drive around the country and STILL didn't see any.

The weather source I use is giving us a high chance from Tuesday for pretty much the whole week.

It is going to be more than embarrassing if I have to give snow as an excuse for not getting to work for the second time in two weeks. I'm really hoping it doesn't happen.

We've had sprinklings of snow over the past two days anyway. Nothing today though, just gorgeous blue skies.

Holy crap if thats true I will be covered in the stuff by Friday!

And now Essex County Council are saying they don't have enough salt........great!

Bah, had about 6 inches that had drifted into two feet in the middle of December. Could do without another load.

we had about 4 inches of snow here in pembs on friday evening, still plenty on the ground today along with the icy roads - hasn't got about freezing all day as well

started snowing again this evening in south west manchester...on top of the ice
hard going on the footpaths and estate roads

I'd be excited at the prospect of being covered with snow if I wasn't working on Saturday (1 day a week crap part time job, but I work outside). It's going to make saturday extremely miserable. If it's really bad the ******* manager who now has it in for me problably won't be in though so it might be allright :p.

Charge up the camera tonight, take it to college everyday me thinks :)

Its approx 10-15cm deep at the moment in Bolton. And its still snowing!

Daughters school is closed, would have been the first day back aswell. Woke her to tell her and she started to cry! Loves school and was looking forward to going back.

However, I think that is now past as she is outside making snow angels!

Bloody loads of the stuff here!

same here, we've still got 8-9 inches minimum and it's chucking it down again right now. Absolutely hate it, horrible stuff, bring on spring, as soon as you like

UPDATE!!

Bulllseye snow event now progged near Reading, though anywhere from Brighton-WNW gets heavy snow for Tuesday eveing/night, lighter snow over SE and Essex. Sussex and south Kent get hit hard as well...

Whole lot pushes northwards tomorrow morning and second front strengthens as it comes southwards giving probably giving a good 5-10cms.

A rough estimate:

West of London, 25-30cms, SW of London about 15cms, Sussex+western Kent about 10-20cms, East Kent 3-8cms, London about 10-15cms, Essex about 3-8cms, any furter north and probably only about 2-4cms.

snow hit us in manchester south west suburbs...and nearly everywhere pennine wise ...last night
today its easier walking on the snow rather than ice to the supermarket...about 1/2 mile

Had a good amount of snow throughout last night here in Cheshire (Northwich), with still a few flakes falling during the day.

Already had plenty
WHITE CHRISTMAS
