oh and a tiger :)

Use a monopod - they look a little soft to me.

Yep tad soft Ian. :( I thought it might be just a touch of sharpening needed but soft is what they is, or at least the last one is having looked at it.

Could be out of focus netting?

Shouldn't make any difference - I've shot at Marwell before, using 600mm and 300mm lenses, right through the link fencing. If you use a wide enough aperture, it vanishes completely.

I agree, and I know Ian is well used to doing that.

I Know that you know, but others might not.
It's difficult not to sound condescending whilst trying to pass on info to those who may be new to all this.

No probs Rob, I know how that works. :)

Thanks for the comments :)

Yeah a little soft they are, with the light conditions on the day, even wide open the fence was still appearing in the pics, especially on the snow leopard enclosure, where the fence is new and is multi wound wire, and reflects light badly !

Rob, have you been back since they built the new snow leopard enclosure ?

The fence is annoying, strange shapes and too far away from the fence to get rid of it on some sides, they also have glass/perspex panels in it, but on the day they were so fogged/frozen they couldnt be used to shoot through !

nice Ian, i know your pain with perspex and fences, bain of my photographic life.
