Snow Leopard Install File Vault problems

I installed Snow Leopard, and my File vault seems to have gone nuts. Says backing up, but jst seems to hang there.

Am I better going into File Vault and turning it off in SL or is there something else that I need to be doing? Took forever to clean disk space, left on overnight, and unfortunately the wife turned it off by mistake. Reboted, installed software update, and said backing up and hung there.

Am I doing anything wrong, googled, but no luck. HELP!

Have managed to turn off file vault and is unencrypting as we speak, so fingers crossed that will solve the problems.

After this comes Aperture 3 Install. Things can only get better!

I seem to remember there were some file vault issues, maybe linked to SL? In the end I decided to turn it off too.

Yeah read on a cpl forums from a google search that there had been issue. Nothing that I need to encrypt really, as only photos on that machine, so fine with it off. Worked perfectly on the macbook though, which is the one I hold more personal info on, so all is fine. Just panicked I could lose something when it went funny on IMac, had to follow that hiccup with Aperture 3 install, lol. Fingernal biting to the maximum, but that has worked fine too.
