Well it lived up to it's name that's for sure. Cold, wet and often snowing, 120 cars took to the stages around the Inverness area.....48 cars did not finish. It was tough out there.

1. David Wilson/Dave Robson - Ford Escort Mk2

2. Barry Groundwater & Daniel Paterson - Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9

3. Euan Thorburn & Paul Beaton - Ford Focus WRC

4.Fraser MacNicol & Keith Boa - Mitsubishi EVO

5.Stevie Brown & Jack Morton - Subaru Impreza

6.Greg McKnight & Chris McKnight - Vauxhall Nova

As I mentioned, a large amount of cars never made it too the end...majority of them went off the road and I managed to capture a serious of shots of one unlucky car. Both driver and co-driver are ok, although the driver's face did go red when he got a round of applause for his efforts

7. Too Fast

8. No Grip

9. No Runoff Route

10. The Invertible Result

Thing is, 10 yards futher down the track was another car who had a moment with a tree and ditch double team....needles to say the car did not come off too well

11. Car vs Tree

Check out the rocks by that guys feet, that'll take care of a lens lol . Didn't bother going weather was crap ,and for me the Snowmans going down in my list of things to do purely on a lack of information basis .The Highland car club hold their cards to close to their chests .

when i was trying to find out info about stage and times etc. this year i was told by people close to the rally that the reason they do this is because they always have problems with numbers of spectators, so they release no info to keep the numbers to a more managable level.

needless to say i never made it to any of the stages; something to remember for next year, dont take women with you - they moan about the cold! got a few shots at the scruiteneering and start line, but nothing like what i wanted. i'll try and get some up later

Wow 48 DNF thats pretty hectic!!!

Really nice shots!!! looks bloody freezing!!!

Thanks, yeah it was freezing...didn't thaw out till possibly Sunday afternoon

Nice shots

Love no 1

Thanks, thankfully that's a family friend who is driving, so will be attempting to sell that one on ;)

Nice shots, which stage(s) did you get to? I've got a couple hundred shots to go through, I managed stage 1 and 6

Thank you, was out at stage 4 behind Contin. It's a popular stage and often has large numbers going so trying to find a less populated part can be difficult.

The track just got cut up in a bad way at certain parts of the stage. I have another photo which shows the large rocks in better detail. Horrible sound hearing the cars bottom out on them.

If I go up with the intention of taking photo's, I always head up on my own. Lesson learned from a disastrous first time with the brothers a couple years ago.

I think this year they really struggled with getting volunteers to marshal the stage, hence why there was little info put out.

Nice pictures in true Snowman weather, I remember servicing on a few events before they changed it to later in the year and needing days to thaw out.
What is the car in the second series(78), an old Nissan?

Love the Nova shot.
