Hi all...

I am struggling a bit with one of my assignment tasks and was wondering if anyone could help at all...

The questions is
Submit a greyscale test for your Eos 400D at ISO 100 ,
What is the dynamic range in stops , construct a zone ruler and submit it , write a brief explanation of what you've observed.

Does anyone have a link to a guide or have any info which might help me through this , will I have to buy a 18% grey card and if so where can I find one.

Thanks in advance...

Regards
Darren

Have a look at a recent camera review in dpreview and it should become clear.

Hi Darren

Did you find the information you were looking for ... if so can you point me in the direction you found it ... I am on the same assignment (which I think is the same course) and am also confused.

Thanks
:bonk:

Ansel's book "The Negative" has the answers.

This along with the companion volumes "The Camera" and "The Print" should be on every photographer's bookshelf anyway. Not only are they packed with theory and practice but also they have many inspiring shots by the master and others.
