Software (mac) for cataloging my equipment?

Hi all,

i've got so many little bits and bobs of photographic equipment that i'd really like a streamlined way of cataloging it all. I'm aware of an app or two out there, but i was hoping there might be some software available so i could do this on my imac rather than my phone. Does anyone know of anything?

Numbers...? Some form of customized spreadsheet surely would do?

Just use a spreadsheet in Numbers.

If you want something interesting, write yourself a database. Not really so hard.

But surely there should be some asset management software out there?

they all seem really expensive but thanks any way! I guess I'll either go down the numbers route or try that app.

FileMaker Pro is the thing but it will cost you an arm and a leg. You would be best to use Numbers, as suggested, for a simple job like a personal inventory. However if you want add pictures etc you could use Microsoft OneNote or Evernote or even the Notes app all of which will sync with your phone/tablet. There is a database module in LibreOffice which is similar to MS Access (I think).

Does it have to be on the Mac..? Could it be on an iPad.? As Jared Polin aka (Fro Knows Photo) has an excellent app that does exactly what your after..

yeah - i might just go with that to be honest.
