I have a friend who is about to go and work abroad for a voluntary organisation for a year, and he has asked me for advice on taking a compact camera along to document the whole thing.
Unfortunately I'm a little out of touch, and haven't got a whole lot of ideas.
He is wanting to spend around £100-120 and isn't averse to a good condition second hand one so suggestions for second hand also welcome.
So far the Sony W690 and Canon 220HS have been seen, and he prefers the Canon.
He will be in a hot and dusty environment, possibly only having intermittent electricity to recharge (or at best only every evening), he is not waiting to spend much more due to the worry of theft or the harsh environment killing the camera.
Anyone have any suggestions for better image quality than the Canon, at a similar price and size?
