Midlands Somewhere in the Crewe/Peak District for sunset this Sunday

-. It shows sunrise and set (and moon too) for anywhere on the Earth for any day. By itself it is good for spotting locations for the rise or set of the sun. Combine it with an OS map of a possible area and you have a very good resource.

Thanks for the reply Dave, that is the idea. Will only have a couple of hours so I wondered if it was possible to get a idea of a few possible locations to help in my search.
 
Beeston Castle, Mow Cop, Magpie mine, numerous country estates...I guess it depends what kind of a place you are looking for and how far you want to travel away from your actual route back down to Oxfordshire.

Thanks Morfis, I have a look at those places. I was thinking of keeping to a hours drive out of my way, very open to different landscape locations. Initial thought was the south peak district to get some heather/sunset/vista?
