I would love to buy from Jessops but when you have other online retailers offering 3 years warranty and approx £40 cheaper what is one supposed to do?
 
it may be that online is £40 cheaper but that £40 difference has gone towards a shop front, a sales team and training and also gives you a direct point of call should you encounter a problem. The issue people have taken up is that you've used the additional facilities of Jessops - which come at a price - and then taken your business elsewhere in search of the lowest price once they've helped you make up your mind and given you all the advice you require. You're by no means alone and plenty of other people on this forum and elsewhere do exactly the same, I'm not meaning to have a go at you individually but taking a broader objection to this sort of conduct. The problem with this behaviour is that sooner or later high street stores such as Jessops are going to go bust and there aren't going to be places you can handle and compare the gear. Instead we'll all be stuck buying blind off the net unless we can find someone who already owns the gear. Now to me that's worth the extra £40 but I guess those with a slightly shorter sighted approach would feel otherwise.
 
You will get the £40 price difference back after having to send the camera back to the original retailer (RMSD @ £20 odd) if you have 2 problems with your camera. For a £40 difference I would take Jessops personally.
 
Plus, you have to pay extra for the 2 years warranty from Jessops! Free with the online shop. And it is 3 years free!!

A lot of people go to PCWorld to look at the PC's, tech, games etc but not everyone buys from them!!
 
yeah but PC's are quite different, people go in to look at what's in there but the setup might not be how they want it so they go somewhere like DELL to get better customization. cameras don't have mixtures of customization as there is simply a body and lens. i could understand if you went to argos to get a camera because its a rip off but a dedicated service that will sort out a problem instantly is not something you see everyday, not to mention if something does go wrong then with the online shop you have the hassle of sending it off and waiting.
