I currently have a sony A7 and am thinking to upgrade to a a7ii for the ibis.

my lenses are currently all A-Mount lenses and used with the LA-EA4 on the A7.

Since my current set up does not have any image stabilisation, I have had some shaky shots.

I take photos primarily and was wondering if the upgrade to have IBIS will be significant to justify the price difference.

Does anyone have any experience in owning both cameras?

Not in owning both... the main advantages in upgrading I can see are better AF (claimed 30% better AF, 50% better tracking) and the IBIS, personally I love IBIS, I've got it in another camera and it works great, allowed me to shoot down to 1/15th sec in poor light with no shake at all.
having said that the downside is that the A72 is over 5oz (160gm) heavier than the A7 and physically larger.

One alternative of course would be to buy some better FE mount lenses with OSS, so you could use your A7 but still have 3 axis image stabilisation.
